Sa Series

Sa is a Tibetan word loosely meaning "earth". Pieces in this series are inspired by the intrinsic beauty nature provides in the most simple of materials. My idea for this series formed while walking a beach in Maine. I was suddenly struck by the way the tide had lined up the stones as it receded. Every stone on that particular beach comes in the same unique elongated shape. Cleverly designed Sterling hinges allow for flexible and comfortable fits and I hand forge each link. These stones are quite thin, making the pieces surprisingly light.
