Kyuma is a Tibetan word for magic. Pieces in this series are held together in improbable or seemingly impossible ways and are often transformative in nature. For example, stone rings appear to float, divided, on a finger. Necklaces have no obvious clasp. Powerful, rare-earth magnets hidden within the pendant hold the necklace closed. Brooch pins can be removed allowing the stone to be worn as a ring. This is the series for people who like to play with their jewelry!
• Warning to individuals with heart conditions: Rare-earth magnets are becoming increasingly common in jewelry and accessories. The magnets used in some pendants in this series are potentially strong enough to disrupt the normal function of pacemakers and ICDs. Please avoid the pendants in this series if you use one of these devices. |
